It happened last night October 16, 2021 6:00 PM airing on Zoom. The magnificent artistry and perfomances by the phenomenal Osunyoyin Alake, Edward Currelley, Ngoma Hill, Atiba Kwabena Wilson and yours truly. The evening started with a welcome and the introduction of Atiba Kwabena Wilson by yours truly. This was followed by Atiba Kwabena Wilson welcoming the ancestors and attendees with masterful and powerful drumming, song and spoken word. The evening proceeded with the poetry and spoken word of Edward Currelley, and yours truly, a wonderful reading by Osunyoyin Alake who was joined by Ngoma Hill for a collaboration of singing, instruments and spoken word by both Osunyoyin Alake and Ngoma Hill. Ngoma Hill closed out the evening’s performances with song, spoken word and instrumental excellence. Ngoma sent us home with a requested encore. All performances were powerful resulting in thunderous applauds, finger snaps and voices in appreciation from audience attendees.

This was an evening of celebration and rejoicing. An evening to honor ancestors. To give of ourselves in appreciation for their love, life, resilience, inspiration, courage encouragement, guidance and strength. This was a teaching experience. Educational, historical ,herstorical and cultural information shared via performance, by Osunyoyin Alake, Edward D. Currelley, Ngoma Hill and Atiba Kwabena Wilson.

Words cannot express my depth of gratitude and great joy! Thanks to everyone who attended. We appreciate you beyond message.
